I'm a huge believer that getting to know each other is a big part of feeling relaxed and capturing those natural moments. I know many people don't like having their photo taken, I'm one of them. I'd even go as far as to say its a phobia, in my case. That's why this photo is pretty much the only photo I have where I'm not pulling a silly face, on purpose.
So here's me, in a rather long rambling nutshell.
I love my family, music, going to gigs, tennis, football, socialising and attempting to dance. I have been born and bred in the Buckinghamshire/Oxfordshire area, some would say I'm a country bumpkin. I grew up in a little village where we used to ride our bikes around the village from dawn to dusk. The summer days mainly consisted of a sheet of tarpaulin, fairy liquid, a hose and all the village kids in our garden. A health and safety nightmare these days!
Growing up in a fairly large family and always having people come and stay with us. This meant, my family was always extending. I've always loved a full house. Which is probably why I love to socialise and meet new people. My husband would say I'm just a chatterbox who loves to host.... of course... he's right... men always are, aren't they????
My work means that I can still do all of these things, I get to have fun, play, have a natter and make new friends.
Well what can I say? Good looking bunch aren't they? Don't know where they get that from.
I'm so proud of these three. They are all extremely intelligent, kind hearted, exceptionally good at sports and have a great sense of humour. What more could anybody want for their children?
Their sporting activities are a big part of our lives. If its not training sessions for hockey, football, cricket then its matches. I love to watch their matches, as often as I can, around work. Even in the freezing cold or when its raining cats and dogs. There is nothing quite like cheering them on and seeing them enjoying themselves... well, when they are winning!
My Furry Friends
These three have completed our little family. Henry (the cat), has always been referred to as my "little man in a furry suit", as I have always spoilt him rotten. He's getting old now so I only see him at night when he sleeps on my pillow next to me or on my back.
The girls, Pippa and Tammy, are the newest additions to the family. They are 3 year old Field Spaniels. So full of love its unbelievable. Their bouncy, excited greeting every time we walk through the front door, never fails to put a smile on our faces.
The Photography World
The photography world is a pretty amazing place. I have made many friends over the last few years. We all help and support each other wherever and whenever we can. Occasionally, we meet for tea, lunch, dinner and even a bit of dancing.
If I'm not shooting or doing the behind the scenes tasks, then I am constantly looking for inspiration for my next weddings and portrait sessions. I've been extremely lucky to be able to second shoot weddings with some inspiring photographers and friendships have grown from these experiences.
I don't see this as work, it can be extremely tough and time consuming... but my word, I genuinely LOVE it!
