Lifestyle photography is so special. It’s a way of capturing you and your loved ones in a natural way, that shows who you really are. Gone are the rigid and uncomfortable faces to the camera photos. Ok well, we will attempt to get one with you all looking into the lens. But it won’t be rigid or uncomfortable... I promise. It also isn’t guaranteed. Kids don’t always play ball, as you well know.
I will be using my knowledge of my camera and my use of light to create some beautiful images for your walls.
What to expect
These sessions are all about being relaxed and enjoying time with your family. There is no pressure for kids to “perform” in the traditional sense. Taking away any stress that you, the parents, may feel. The shoot would normally last around an hour. Much longer and the children will lose interest and then we’ll end up with stroppy pics. In order to make use of pretty light it is always best to have sessions early in the morning or an hour or so before sunset. Yes, this can definitely mess up little people’s routines BUT we can limit the damage and it will definitely be worth it.
Where should we have our photos taken?
This question pops up all the time. I always recommend somewhere with a variety of backdrops. Big parks or open spaces, woodland and farms are always a great go to. It’s also, good to remember that National Trust venues do charge a fee for any photography sessions. But that’s ok, there are plenty of places locally that work a treat.
I hate my photo being taken do we have to pose?
I would absolutely love to capture you and your family as naturally as possible. I will give slight directions of where and how to stand or sit and suggest fun tricks and games to play to help you relax. The rest is all about your interactions. Don’t panic it really wont be scary.
